Fireball Finale rules
The event. 90th Anniversary 2-Man Better Ball from the 2/3 tees, 85% handicap allowance, rain or shine. Draw and auction Friday September 18 at 6:00 pm in the clubhouse, golf Saturday September 19. Cash only, and Friday attendance is required.
The teams. The field is split into two handicap groups based on the final field, and each team is one player drawn from each group.
Buying a team. Each team may first buy itself for the $300 cap. If it doesn't, the team goes to auction: bidding opens at $50 and stops at the $300 cap. If more than one bidder reaches $300, a random draw decides who gets it.
The buy-back. Once a team is bought, its two players may buy back up to 50% of themselves for up to half the purchase price. That money goes to the owner, not the pool, and winnings are shared in the same proportion.
The money. Entry is $15 per player: $10 to the tournament payout and $5 to the KP pot. The Calcutta pool is separate and goes to the owners of the top finishing teams. A full field pays the top 5.
Cancellations. Once the draw is complete everyone is committed. A player who cancels or no-shows forfeits their $15 and any buy-back money they paid. Their partner is refunded their share of the team purchase, and whoever bought the team at auction is refunded as well.
